Laboratory-based courses – courses that include some combination of lecture, laboratory, and/or field experiences – present unique educational opportunities and challenges when compared with lecture-based courses. This workshop will explore evidence-based, practical strategies for promoting student learning, engagement, and inclusion in laboratory courses. Workshop participants will practice implementing strategies to effectively facilitate activities for common laboratory and field scenarios.
