Creating opportunities for students to collaborate on assignments or projects is considered a high-impact practice in higher education. However, group work can be challenging to facilitate effectively and often raises a number of questions. Should students choose their own groups or be assigned to a group? What happens if not all group members are contributing equally? How should we assess group work? In this faculty workshop led by Dr. Rachel Stumpf (CEE), participants will consider how group work can support their course learning objectives and explore strategies for facilitating group activities in ways that are equitable and productive.
