Collaborative Writing in Class: An opportunity for all our students to develop critical thinking skills using primary literature

2018 Fall Faculty Workshops

Event Date

Primary literature and writing can be intimidating to our students, but collaborative writing is an effective method to address this concern and promote critical thinking. Silvia Carrasco Garcia (Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology) will share the strategies she uses to help build capacity, competence, and critical thinking skills in a high-enrollment course through the use of collaborative writing assignments. Participants in this workshop will learn the details of the logistics to successfully implement this activity in their classes. This workshop is for faculty and instructional staff only.
