Equity-Minded Grading Practices

Event Date

Location
Teaching and Learning Complex, Room 1213

Equity-minded grading begins before you teach, before you meet with TAs, and before you meet your students for the first time. Equity-minded grading begins when you define what you want students to be able to demonstrate throughout and as a result of completing the course.

This interactive workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Kenji Quides (Microbiology and Molecular Genetics) and Dr. Kara Moloney from CEE. During the session, participants will briefly consider principles of equity-minded grading; explore equity-minded grading practices in use at UC Davis; and collaborate with peers to develop grading strategies that promote equity, fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all students. (Even in large enrollment courses!)
