Introduction
During the 2024 Winter Quarter, the Center for Educational Effectiveness surveyed all undergraduate students (N= ~31,000) about their perceptions, uses, and future value of Generative AI (GenAI). Approximately 4% (N=1361) responded. No identifiable information was collected, and all respondents were advised that their responses would be completely anonymous.
Key takeaways include the majority of students:
- deeply consider the ethics of using GenAI for academic work
- do not use GenAI frequently
- are cautious in trusting the accuracy of GenAI
- and believe GenAI is important to work after college
We invite you to read the full report for additional qualitative and quantitative survey data, as well as available CEE resources to further support UC Davis faculty.
