Student Community Center, Meeting Room D
Many instructors seek to offer opportunities for hands-on, ‘minds-on,’ experiential learning to their students. Labs, studio sessions, and other hands-on work can offer irreplaceable opportunities for experiential learning that integrates theory and practice, allowing students to participate in building new knowledge and problem solving. Research shows that experiential learning leads to greater student investment in their own learning, and results in deeper understanding of course concepts. This workshop will focus on how to effectively prepare for and facilitate learning experiences that make the course material ‘come alive’ for students.
