What we say in our syllabus (and what we don’t say) can be consequential, not only in terms of providing students with basic information about a course, but also in setting the tone for how we hope to interact with students and ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed. In this hands-on workshop, Dr. Rachel Stumpf (CEE) will engage participants in a set of exercises to review one of their own syllabi from an equity lens and to identify opportunities for establishing a more inclusive classroom environment using the syllabus as a foundation. Both faculty and graduate student instructors are invited to participate in this workshop. Participants should bring a digital or paper copy of a syllabus they would like to review and revise.
