Bio

My name is Meredith, and I’m a PhD candidate in Evolutionary Anthropology and one of the GTC Coordinators for 2023-2024. For me, teaching undergraduates and getting to share my love of anthropology has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a graduate student. I joined the Graduate Teaching Community to connect with other grad students who are passionate about teaching. Being a TA is both exciting and challenging, and I believe we can learn so much by sharing our insights and experiences with one another. My hope is that GTC helps us to be effective, creative, and compassionate teachers.

My research focuses on the tool-using behaviors of capuchin monkeys. I use archaeology – the study of materials and artifacts – to help us better understand primate behavior and the relationship between humans and our primate relatives. When I’m not on campus teaching, I can often be found tromping around the forests and beaches of Panama.
