Active Learning Strategies for Lectures and Sections

Event Date

Location
Walker 1220

Do you have tons of content to cover and not much time to do so? Do you sometimes get the sense that most of your students are lost after an hour of lecture? In this interactive workshop, we will discuss how to keep students engaged without sacrificing content coverage. You’ll learn about research-backed active learning practices that boost student engagement, improve student understanding, and build a learning community. You will also develop a plan to implement concrete strategies that are easy to integrate into smaller discussion sections and larger traditional lectures. Facilitated by Bella Cantu, Sociology, and Sophie Green, Political Science.
