Bio
Beth Broome is the Executive Director of the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) at UC Davis, where she leads efforts to advance teaching excellence, strengthen student success, and build a culture of continuous improvement. She brings a distinctive combination of strategic leadership, cross-campus collaboration, and experience translating complex educational challenges into practical, scalable solutions.
At CEE, Beth works at the intersection of teaching, learning, data, and institutional change. Under her leadership, CEE is expanding its work in evidence-informed teaching, learning analytics and assessment, educational innovation, and the thoughtful and ethical use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. Her focus is on helping educators understand their students, make informed decisions about teaching and assessment, and create learning environments that are inclusive, engaging, and effective.
Prior to joining CEE, Beth served as the founding leader of UC Davis STEM Strategies, where she spent a decade developing and leading cross-campus initiatives designed to expand student opportunity and strengthen pathways into STEM. Her work included launching the UC Davis STEM Portal, developing innovative student support models, and building partnerships across the university and throughout the K–16 education and workforce ecosystem. Across these efforts, she developed a reputation for bringing people and ideas together, breaking down organizational silos, and turning ambitious concepts into sustainable programs.
